How Much of Our Favourite Celebrity Homes Can We Afford?

It’s no secret that Britain is a nation of nosy parkers. From snooping on neighbours and eavesdropping on conversations to scrolling through social media apps to see what other people are up to, or watching TV shows, like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, to get a glimpse into how the other half lives.
This inspired us to look into the value of 20 famous celebrity homes situated around the world, to find out how affordable they are to the average Brit. To do this, we worked out how much each square foot is potentially worth, before measuring this against the average annual UK salary.

Kendall Jenner
Located in Beverly Hills, USA, Kendall Jenner’s main property is reportedly valued at $8.5m and is 6,625 square feet in total. When exchanged into the Great British Pound (GBP), Kendall’s property is worth a whopping £6,545,000, which is an estimated £988 per square foot.
With the average UK salary being £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 29 square feet of Kendall’s property. Upon further analysis of the average square footage of different rooms in a typical UK home, it is estimated that Brits might only be able to afford 32% of Kendall Jenner’s bathroom, 13% of her bedroom or 19% of her kitchen.
Drake
Situated in Toronto, Canada, Drake’s main property is reportedly valued at $100m and covers a whopping 50,000 square feet, which means that his house is the most expensive and the largest of all celebrity properties studied. When converted into GBP, Drake’s property is reportedly worth £77m, or an estimated £1,540 per square foot.
It is estimated that Brits earning the average yearly salary (£29k) may only be able to afford just 19 square feet of Drake’s property, which potentially equates to just 20% of the artist’s bathroom, 9% of his bedroom or 12% of his kitchen.
Kim Kardashian and Kayne West
Located in the Hidden Hills, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s property is 16,000 square feet and has reportedly been valued at $60m, making it the third most expensive celebrity property studied. When exchanged into GBP, Kim and Kanye’s property is reportedly worth an estimated £46,200,000, or an estimated £2,888 per square foot.
Since the average annual salary in the UK is just £29,000, this means that the average Brit is estimated to be able to afford just 10 square feet of the couple’s property. To put this into perspective, this figure potentially equates to just 11% of their bathroom, 5% of their bedroom or 7% of their kitchen.
Beyoncé
Situated in Bel Air, USA, Beyoncé’s main residence is an impressive 30,000 square feet and is reportedly valued at $88m, making it the second most expensive celebrity home studied. In GBP, the singer’s property is reportedly worth £67,760,000, or £2,259 per square foot.
When bearing in mind that the UK annual average salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 13 square feet of Beyoncé’s home, which potentially equates to just 14% of the bathroom, 9% of the kitchen or 6% of the bedrooms.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s main residence, located in the Hollywood Hills, is 6,226 square feet and is reportedly valued at $13.7m. When converted into GBP, Ariana’s property is estimated to be worth £10,549,000, or £1,694 per square foot.
With the average yearly salary being £29,000 in the UK, we conclude that the average Brit could only afford 17 square feet of Ariana’s home. Based on the average room sizes in UK properties, Brits may only be able to afford an estimated 18% of her bathroom, 8% of her bedroom, or 11% of her kitchen.
Kylie Jenner
Located in Holmby Hills in the USA, Kylie Jenner’s property is said to be 15,000 square feet in size and has a reported value of $36.5m in total. When converted into pounds, Kylie’s residence is reportedly worth £28,105,000, or £1,874 per square foot.
With the average salary in the UK being £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 15 square feet of Kylie’s Holmby Hills home, which potentially equates to just 17% of her bathroom, 7% of her bedroom, or 10% of her kitchen.
Meghan and Harry
For those that want to know how much it would cost to live like royalty, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s American property, located in Montecito, USA, is reportedly 18,691 square feet. It is said to have a value of $14.7m which, when converted into GBP is £11,319,000 – £606 per square foot.
According to our analysis, the average Brit may only be able to afford 48 square feet of Meghan and Harry’s property. In other words, this figure potentially equates to 51% of the couple’s bathroom, 22% of their bedroom or 32% of their kitchen.

Cristiano Ronaldo
Situated in La Finca, Spain, Ronaldo’s main residence is 8,600 square feet and is reportedly valued at $6.2m. When converted into pounds, it is worth £4,774,000, or £555 per square foot.
Since the average UK annual salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 52 square feet of Ronaldo’s property. According to our analysis, this potentially equates to 56% of his bathroom, 24% of his bedroom, or 35% of his kitchen.

Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson’s primary property, located in Georgia, is said to cover 13,153 square feet and has a reported value of $9.5m. Exchanging this figure into GBP, Dwayne Johnson’s property is reportedly worth £7,315,000, or £556 per square foot.
Based on the average UK annual salary, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 52 square feet of The Rock’s house, which potentially equates to 56% of his bathroom, 24% of his bedroom, or 35% of his kitchen.
Taylor Swift
Located in New York, Taylor Swift’s main property is 8,300 square feet and is reportedly worth at $20.5m. When exchanged into GBP, her home is valued at an estimated £15,785,000 or £1,902 per square foot.
Bearing in mind the average UK salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit on this yearly wage could only afford 15 square feet of the singer’s home, which potentially equates to just 16% of her bathroom, 7% of her bedroom, or 10% of her kitchen.
Adele
Adele’s main property is situated in Beverly Hills and spans 17,000 square feet in total, with a reported value of $9.6m. When exchanged into GBP, Adele’s property is reportedly worth £7,392,000, or £435 per square foot.
This means that, when taking into account the fact that the average Brit earns £29,000, they may only be able to afford 67 square feet of Adele’s home, which potentially equates to 72% of her bathroom, 30% of her bedroom, or 44% of her kitchen.
Khloe Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian is next on the list with her Calabasas property, which is said to span 11,000 square feet and is reportedly worth $8.5m. Exchanged into GBP, this means that Khloe Kardashian’s property is reportedly valued at £14,553,000, or £1,323 per square foot.
When taking into account the average Brit’s salary (£29k), it is estimated that the average Brit may only be able to afford 22 square feet of the Kardashian’s property, which potentially equates to just 24% of her bathroom, 10% of her bedroom, or 15% of her kitchen.
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish’s primary property, located in Los Angeles, spans 1,208 square feet and has a reported value of $763,000 – making it the most “affordable” celebrity home of those studied. When this value is exchanged into GBP, Billie Eilish’s home is reportedly worth around £587,510, or £486 per square foot.
With the average annual salary in the UK being £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 60 square feet of Billie’s home, which could potentially equate to 64% of the singer’s bathroom, 27% of her bedroom or 39% of her kitchen.
Gigi Hadid
Located in New York, USA, Gigi Hadid’s property covers 2,955 square feet and has a reported value of $5.8m. When exchanged into GBP, Gigi Hadid’s property is reportedly worth somewhere in the region of £4,466,000, or £1,511 per square foot.
Since the average UK salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only afford 19 square feet of the model’s home, which potentially equates to 21% of her bathroom, 9% of her bedroom, or 13% of her kitchen.
Kourtney Kardashian
Situated in Calabasas, Kourtney Kardashian’s main property covers 12,000 square feet and comes with a reported value of $8.5m. When converted into GBP, this means the Kardashian sister’s home is worth around £6,545,000, or £545 per square foot.
As a result, the average Brit earning £29,000 (the UK average yearly salary) is estimated to only be able to afford 53 square feet of Kourtney’s home, which potentially equates to 57% of her bathroom, 24% of her bedroom, or 35% of her kitchen.
The Beckham’s
David and Victoria Beckham’s main property is situated in London and spans 6,520 square feet and is reportedly worth an impressive £30,184,000, which equates to £4,629 per square foot.
It is estimated that the average Brit, earning the average UK salary (£29,000), may only be able to afford 6 square feet of the Beckham’s home, which potentially equates to just 7% of the couple’s bathroom, 3% of their bedroom, or 4% of their kitchen.
Rihanna
Rihanna’s main property is also in London, spanning 6,332 square feet and is reportedly valued at £30,646,000, or £4,840 per square foot, ranking the property as the fourth most expensive home of all 20 studied.
We estimate that the average Brit could only afford 6 square feet of Rihanna’s London home which potentially equates to just 6% of her bathroom, 3% of her bedrooms, or 4% of her kitchen based on these figures.
Justin Bieber
Situated in Beverly Hills, USA, Justin Bieber’s primary property spans 11,000 square feet and is reportedly valued at $25.8m. When exchanged in GBP, this means that Justin Bieber’s property is reportedly worth £19,866,000, which equates to £1,806 per square foot.
If the average Brit earning the average UK salary (£29k) wanted to buy the singer’s home, they may only be able to afford 16 square feet of the property. This figure potentially equates to just 17% of Bieber’s bathroom, 7% of his bedroom, or 11% of his kitchen.
Harry Styles
Harry Styles’ primary residence is located in Hampstead, UK, and is 2,300 square feet in total, with a reported value of $2.9m. In GBP, Harry Styles’ Hampstead property has a reported value of £2,233,00, or £971 per square foot.
Considering that the UK annual average salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit may only be able to afford 30 square feet of Harry’s home, which potentially equates to 32% of his bathroom, 14% of his bedroom or 20% of his kitchen.
Simon Cowell
Found in Beverly Hills, USA, Simon Cowell’s main property spans 7,265 square feet and boasts a reported value of $14.5m. When this figure is exchanged into GBP, Simon Cowell’s is said to be worth in the region of £11,1650,000, or £1,537 per square foot.
When bearing in mind the average UK salary is £29,000, it is estimated that the average Brit could only be able to afford 19 square feet of Simon Cowell’s property. According to our analysis, this figure equates to just 20% of his bathroom, 9% of his bedroom, or 12% of his kitchen.

Methodology:
- Online Mortgage Advisor put together a list of the most popular and talked about celebrities, researched their homes and the homes in square feet. As many of the celebrities included have large property portfolios, the main residence most recently associated with each celebrity was used.
- To find out the estimated prices per currency Online Mortgage Advisor used the current exchange rate.
- Online Mortgage Advisor then divided the square foot of each home by its most recent reported price to find out how much each square foot would roughly cost.
- Online Mortgage Advisor then looked into the average salary from each country listed to work out the estimated average of how much each country would be able to afford from each celebrity home.
- To find out how much each country would be able to afford, we divided the country’s average salary by the price per square foot.
- To determine which percentage of each room within a celebrity’s home the average salary could afford, Online Mortgage Advisor found average square feet measurements for rooms such as the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen within homes and used this number to determine what percentage of these rooms could be afforded by the average salary based on how many square feet could are estimated to be affordable in each celebrity home
