The Role

The Delivery Manager will increase productivity and output of an already highly functioning marketing team, fulfilling a crucial role in delivery of ambitious targets, through various responsibilities, such as:

  • Managing resources and updating stakeholders & directors on requirements, supply and progress
  • Quantifying projects, managing workloads, timeframes, prioritising tasks and roadmapping.
  • Project management of internal teams and external agencies, ensuring delivery of objectives on time (or earlier!) and to the highest standard
  • Identifying and removing resource conflicts and bottlenecks, whether it be through recruitment, outsourcing or streamlining, and ensuring that adequate contingencies are in place to alleviate risks and over-dependencies
  • Improving communication between marketing and the rest of the business as well as with external resources, including running marketing meetings and stand-up calls
  • Planning and fulfilling ambiguous jobs that don’t fall within anybody’s remit to ensure everyone is working to their strengths
  • Building towards ever increasing autonomy
  • Producing high level status and exception reports to ensure the management and board are accurately and reliably informed in order to make essential business decisions.

The Person

The person we are looking for will excel in personality and attitude over and above academic history, and whilst credentials and proven experience are important, we feel the following are essential requirements for successful delivery:

  • A dynamic problem solver
  • Highly organised and a good communicator
  • A numbers person, with ruthless diligence, attention to detail, and a good head for robust QA
  • Flexible and dynamic, can build in structure & processes but flexible enough to ensure it enhances rather than stifles
  • Collaborative, approachable, and a team player, with a fun and positive attitude
  • Patient, resilient and rational
  • Comfortable to challenge and be challenged without ego
  • Comfortable adapting to change in a dynamic environment
  • Is used to working within a rapid experimentation and test environment
  • Someone who thrives under pressure
  • Foresight and awareness to think ahead and anticipate potential roadblocks in advance
  • Able to manage as well as organise people into self-management, empowering teams to run with autonomy.
  • Does not simply “push harder” in order to “move stuff faster” - pressurised teams focus on output not value. This is about capacity management and problem solving to remove limitations.
  • A sleeve-roller. Someone unafraid to get their hands dirty and stuck in wherever needed and confident enough to do/try new things.

Experience

The following are essential requirements:

  • A master of project management tools (Wrike, Trello, etc.)
  • Management experience & proven track record managing team workflows against OKRs in growing companies
  • Experience working with and managing successful and timely projects using agencies & third parties
  • Marketing experience - Somebody with a solid understanding of marketing from a wider perspective that can understand the context behind the things we do, and understands how different disciplines feed into each other.
  • At least 2 years’ recent experience in a closely matched role
